A Lovely Surprise During Small Business Week

This week I had a lovely surprise. I discovered that I had been featured in the Lowestoft Journal as part of Small Business Week.

As I read the article, it made me stop and reflect on the journey that brought me here.

Like many small business owners, my business didn’t begin with a carefully crafted business plan.

It began with a problem.

How One Challenge Changed My Life

In 2009, my husband Neil was involved in a serious accident that left him living with chronic pain.

Like many families facing difficult circumstances, we searched for answers. One of those answers came in the form of hypnosis.

The results we achieved together opened my eyes to the incredible connection between the mind and body and sparked a passion that would eventually change the course of my life.

At the time, I could never have imagined where that journey would lead.

Today, I have the privilege of helping people overcome anxiety, fears, low confidence, overwhelm and grief. Every person who walks through my door has their own story, and it is a privilege to be part of that journey.

  • I’ve watched clients board planes they once avoided.
  • I’ve seen people walk past dogs they were terrified of.
  • I’ve seen people rediscover hope after loss.
  • I’ve seen students begin careers helping others.

Every one of those moments reminds me why I do what I do.

The People Who Make It Worthwhile

Small Business Week has also reminded me that none of us build a business alone.

Behind every small business is a community.

  • The people who encourage us.
  • The people who recommend us.
  • The people who trust us.
  • The people who buy our products, attend our events, leave reviews and share our work.

The Power of Community

Over the years I have been fortunate to meet so many incredible people, both through my business and through the wider local business community.

People like my personal trainer Matt, who inspires me with his dedication and commitment.

People like my friend Emma, who supports others through coaching and encouragement.

And so many other business owners who pour their hearts into what they do every day.

Celebrating Small Businesses

Running a small business can be challenging.

It can be exciting.

It can be rewarding.

Sometimes it can be all three in the same day.

But what I have learned is that the most meaningful businesses are built on relationships.

On trust.

On kindness.

On a genuine desire to make a difference.

Thank You for Being Part of My Journey

So as Small Business Week comes to a close, I simply want to say thank you.

  • Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey.
  • Thank you to every client who has trusted me.
  • Thank you to every student who has trained with me.
  • Thank you to every reader who has purchased my book.
  • Thank you to every person who has shared a post, left a review, made a recommendation or offered words of encouragement.

I may have been featured in the newspaper this week, but the truth is that this story has never really been about me.

It’s about people.

It’s about connection.

It’s about helping others.

And for that, I am deeply grateful.
