What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention, often induced through relaxation techniques. In this state, individuals are more receptive to positive suggestions for change. It can be similar to experiencing a pleasant daydream. A hypnotherapist acts as a coach or a facilitator, guiding the person’s daydream. The individual controls entering and exiting this relaxed state of consciousness.
What is hypnotherapy?
When a properly trained and accredited healthcare professional uses hypnosis as a part of treatment, it is called hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is a practical way of helping people manage physical and psychological problems. The hypnotherapist uses relaxation, focussed guided imagery, suggestions, and therapeutic metaphors to build self-control over physical and emotional problems.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes, hypnosis is generally considered safe when practiced by trained professionals. It’s important to work with a qualified hypnotherapist who adheres to ethical guidelines and ensures your comfort and well-being throughout the session.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
Hypnotherapy can assist with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, phobias, smoking cessation, weight management, pain management, confidence building, and more. It works by addressing the underlying subconscious patterns that contribute to these challenges.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No, you remain in control during hypnosis. Contrary to popular misconceptions, hypnosis is not about relinquishing control but rather about enhancing your ability to focus and access your inner resources for positive change.
In hypnosis, your mind will be active and alert the entire time. You’ll hear what I say, and remember as much as you would from any normal conversation. Rather than being a loss of control, it’s about helping you take control of those parts of your life that don’t have to be out of control anymore.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some issues may be resolved in just a few sessions, while others may require more extensive therapy. Your hypnotherapist will discuss a personalised treatment plan with you.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Every living human being can be hypnotised if they want to be, and of course full co-operation is required. There is only one thing that can prevent someone from going into hypnosis: FEAR.
Who can’t be hypnotised?
Children under five because they don’t understand the language that is being used.
People with serious mental health issues.
People who simply don’t want to be.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis often feels like a state of deep relaxation, similar to the moments before drifting off to sleep. You may experience a heightened sense of focus, tranquility, and receptivity to positive suggestions. You might feel a heavy feeling of relaxation. You might notice a light, floating sensation. You might just feel like you’re sitting in a chair. Whatever you feel is perfectly fine. There’s no ONE specific hypnotised feeling.
Is hypnosis the same as sleep?
No, hypnosis is not sleep. While hypnosis may induce a deeply relaxed state that resembles sleep, you remain awake, aware, and in control of your faculties during the process.
Can hypnosis help with confidence and self-esteem?
Yes, hypnotherapy can be highly effective for boosting confidence and self-esteem by addressing underlying beliefs and behaviours that undermine self-confidence. Through positive suggestions and cognitive restructuring, you can cultivate a more positive self-image and mindset.
Is hypnosis effective for children and adolescents?
Yes, hypnotherapy can be beneficial for children and adolescents in addressing issues such as anxiety, bedwetting, academic performance, behaviour problems, and more. However, it’s essential to work with a hypnotherapist experienced in pediatric hypnosis techniques.
Self-improvement is a lifelong journey. There is always something to work on to become a better version of yourself. Traditional methods of self-improvement such as books, seminars, and counseling, are all excellent tools. But there is another way to unlock your inner potential – hypnosis! Hypnosis can re-train your brain to become a better version of you. It uses visualisation, suggestion, and advanced hypnotherapy strategies to help you be more confident, and more relaxed, and change the things you want to change.
Hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool for managing anxiety. By guiding individuals into a deeply relaxed state, hypnotherapy allows access to the subconscious mind, where negative thought patterns and fears are rooted. Through positive suggestions and visualisation techniques, a hypnotherapist can help reframe these thoughts, reduce stress, and foster a sense of calm and control. This process not only alleviates anxiety symptoms but also empowers individuals to handle future stressors with greater resilience and confidence. Live online video sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions. Sometimes they can be more effective because we can get that result in the environment where you most need the support. Imagine the changes in your health and your focus when we hypnotically create the results in the environment in which you want to produce the change. This can be especially effective if the habit or behaviour you want to change is something you do at home or at work for example overeating, smoking or trouble sleeping.
Hypnotherapy is helping people just like you right now. Hypnotherapy can help with lots of different issues, such as weight issues, sleeping problems, managing stress and anxiety, overcoming fears, improving sports performance and more. Using hypnosis, I help everyday people with everyday issues break free from unwanted habits or emotional worries. They become calmer, more confident and find it easier to deal with any future problems as they arise.
