What can Hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy can change lives. It is a remarkable force for change. I know this because I have seen it happen with many people.

When you think of hypnosis and its applications, often the first thought that comes to mind is stopping smoking. It may surprise you that hypnotherapy can help with many different issues.

Hypnotherapy has been successfully used to treat pain, anxiety, fears, phobias, asthma, bed-wetting, nervous tics, smoking, obesity, and many other problems.

Why Celebrities Love Hypnosis

Many famous celebrities have used hypnosis to help them overcome their problems.

For example, Adele used hypnotherapy in 2014 to quit smoking and then again in 2020 to lose 7 stone in weight. Reportedly, hypnotherapy helped her stop smoking right away, around the time her hit single “Hello” first came out.

Another English singer and songwriter, Sam Smith struggled so badly with OCD he filmed himself going through daily rituals before leaving home.

He says: “I had to film myself flicking off every plug and checking every tap.” “I had a fear if the house was going to flood or burn, I would have proof I had nothing to do with it.”

Sam has now conquered the condition thanks to hypnotherapy.

Eva Mendes is also said to have benefited from hypnosis sessions aiming to stop her from biting her nails. She has a history of endorsing hypnotherapy more broadly. In particular, the actress has confirmed that she has used hypnotherapy to combat and overcome a debilitating fear of spiders. This is another excellent example of how hypnosis can influence subconscious fears that hold us back.

In 2001, the British Psychological Society commissioned a group of expert psychologists and published a report that declared hypnosis a proven therapeutic medium and valid for study. The report went on to say hypnotherapy is beneficial for a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, pain, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches and migraines, asthma and a variety of skin maladies and weight reduction. A comparison study reported in 2007 by American Health Magazine indicated some psychological issues benefit more from hypnotherapy than psychoanalysis and behaviour therapy. A German university meta-analysis of 444 studies supported this claim, concluding a 90 percent success rate with hypnotherapy for stress, anxiety and chronic pain.
