How successful is hypnosis?

One of the questions I’m often asked is “Is hypnosis real?” Of course, the short answer is “Yes”!
In this video, I explain a few of the myths and how hypnosis really works. When hypnosis is used in a therapeutic way it is known as hypnotherapy.
It may surprise you that all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis. You are in control the whole time. Hypnosis taps into your internal dialogue and uses your unique imagination to guide you to experience the world in a different way.
Your brain learns from your mental imagery and acts on it as it was real, which in turn helps you to adapt to change comfortably. Hypnosis can help you to make improvements to your life that you wouldn’t have thought possible.

So you may be wondering “Will Hypnosis work for me? Can I be hypnotised?”
It may surprise you to learn that you go into a natural trance every day. The real question is: Will Hypnosis work for my personal issue?

Hypnosis is just a state of deep relaxation.
Hypnotherapy makes use of the mind’s ability to change patterns of behaviour and break free of emotional burdens. It’s fast, effective and natural. Most people are surprised at just how relaxing it is.
Being mindful is anytime when you are focussing all your attention on one thing.
Mindfulness can be a meditation technique, it’s also a hypnosis technique. It’s a technique that helps you stay focused on the present. Change occurs in the present, in the context of now. We can’t change the past, no matter how difficult it’s been. We can’t know the future. But what we can do is, right now, is focus on the present – the now.
NLP is a set of methods and insights that help you take charge of your life.
NLP is the study of how language affects your neurology and your behaviour. NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Everything in your life is determined by the words you tell yourself and the pictures you form in the head. NLP helps you change those words and picture so that you are more in charge of your thoughts and feelings.
Your presence, your calm, and your peace are the biggest gifts you can offer the world.
Meditation is a practice where you focus your mind on a particular object, thought or activity to help calm your mind. The goal is to focus your mind, eventually reaching a higher level of awareness and inner calm and peace. When you are calm, happy and full of compassion you will naturally know how to create the life you want and how to grow the positive qualities in yourself and others.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is like acupuncture without the needles.
EFT is a form of psychological acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments for over 5,000 years, but without the invasiveness of needles. By tapping on the special meridian power points, we put more energy into the system and clear out blockages and disturbances, get the energy to flow more freely, and that’s why we then feel better, think better, and act better as a result.

In 2001, the British Psychological Society commissioned a group of expert psychologists and published a report that declared hypnosis a proven therapeutic medium and valid for study. The report went on to say hypnotherapy is beneficial for a wide range of issues including stress, anxiety, pain, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches and migraines, asthma and a variety of skin maladies and weight reduction. A comparison study reported in 2007 by American Health Magazine indicated some psychological issues benefit more from hypnotherapy than psychoanalysis and behaviour therapy. A German university meta-analysis of 444 studies supported this claim, concluding a 90 percent success rate with hypnotherapy for stress, anxiety and chronic pain.
