As human beings, we feel the need to be accepted by other people, and this is why social phobia is quite common. It can create problems in circumstances that many of us take for granted like being at the checkout in a supermarket or even socialising with a group of friends. Social anxiety may cause countless problems within marriages, job and a person’s general way of life. Social anxiety manifests itself in various ways including talking when in front of people, reading out loud or writing whilst being observed, lining up in banks and any scenario where they are the centre of attention.
